Sandy had an association with Rotary from the time of her selection as a member of D9670 GSE team to Egypt in 1998. Since joining the Rotary Club of Mudgee Sunrise in 2001, Sandy was active in its promotion, combining her superb photography skills and association with the Mudgee Guardian to inform the community about Rotary. Sandy was the “official photographer”, amassing a comprehensive collection to record the Club’s many community and social activities while providing us with a visual history for our archive.  Sandy’s “Year in Review”  was always eagerly awaited.

On a wider front, Sandy’s photographs have been used:
· as an integral part of the club’s  “Clock Awards” presentation at the District Conference in Forster
· to publicise some of the many Rotary activities such as “Pride of Workmanship”, Clock Awards and Carols in the Park” in the Mudgee Guardian
· to capture attention on the Club's original blog

Sandy had a great international perspective. As International Service Director, she began the club practice of International Toasts at breakfast.  Sandy hosted visiting GSE team members and helped prepare our candidates for the GSE selection process. As an avid traveller, Sandy used her experiences, make-ups at Rotary Clubs and photographs to enhance the concept of international understanding of our club members.

In 2013, the club honoured Sandy by making her a Paul Harris Fellow.  She was presented with the certificate, medallion and pin that make up the award and the citation from the Club. We are so glad that at the time we told Sandy how much she was valued and respected!
